Classes & Sessions
With over thirty years of experience, our coaches provide high quality kickboxing and karate classes in an encouraging and motivating environment.
Kids Classes
Every child is unique, and our martial arts classes offer a fantastic opportunity for them to capitalise on their natural strength, to bolster their self-esteem, and to develop emotional intelligence and management skills. During these classes your child will interact with others in team exercises, work with partners to develop individual skills and improve physical fitness.
Kickboxing
Kickboxing will put you on a path to becoming your best self. Within a few weeks in our classes, you’ll have more stamina, feel more energetic and have positive self-esteem. You’ll be able to fend off the emotional onslaught of judgement from others. By conquering our kickboxing classes, your journey with us will see you developing into a better version of yourself.
Competitive Fighting Classes
We pride ourselves on many success stories since we opened in 1992. We have seen hundreds of our students win English, National, British, European and World championships across all age, weight, and gender categories.
We are producing champion after champion. With incredible success over the past few years 2022 we are looking forward to seeing more in our program designed to make a champion out of you.
Personal Training Session
During your private sessions, you’ll do a mixture of cardio and aerobic exercises, strength and endurance exercises, or a flexible range of motion exercises.
How your workouts are structured will depend on you, your goals, and current fitness level. All our instructors are qualified with over thirty years of experience with personal training, kickboxing, boxing, and cycling.
About
Peterborough Freestyle was opened by Clifton Findley with his former instructor Sifu Nigel Thompson in 1992. Clifton started his journey in kung fu entering several tournaments across the country and quickly became the National and British Champion. In 1989 he entered the WAKO British Championships in Manchester and won as a first-time contestant beating the current WAKO European Champion. This led Clifton to represent the United Kingdom at the WAKO World Championships in Mestre, Italy. In 1990 after winning the WKA British Championships he represented the United Kingdom once again at the WKA World Championships in Canada where he won Gold.
Clifton then focused his attention to his club Peterborough Freestyle where over the span of thirty years his former students have gone on to become English, National, British, European and World Champions. Peterborough Freestyle has become a household name around the kickboxing community in Peterborough and across the country. He won The Peterborough Evening Telegraph Sportsman Award in 2002 and the following year won the Evening Telegraph Sports Personality Awards of the year. In 2018 he was awarded The Pride of Peterborough Award which celebrated his dedication over the years and the success of the academy for teaching and encouraging over 1,000 children to change their lives for the better.
